Math Marvels learn to identify angles as supplementary, complementary, vertical, adjacent, and nonadjacent. They use this information to write and solve equations to find unknown angle measures. Math Marvels explore drawing and constructing triangles and quadrilaterals and draw conclusions about how conditions impact the figures. They find areas of complex figures by composing and decomposing them, and they find area and circumference of circles by using formulas. Math Marvels build on their knowledge of ratios and proportions to explore scale, scale factor, and scale drawings. They learn to find the volume of right triangular prisms, and they find the volume of complex figures by decomposing them into right prisms. Math Marvels use area formulas to find the surface area of three-dimensional figures. They use their knowledge of two- and three-dimensional figures to describe cross sections of right rectangular prisms and pyramids.
